The June 13, 2018 Migraine & Headache Awareness Month Social Media Challenge was inspired by a quote by Albert Einstein, who said, “What is right is not always popular and what is popular is not always right.”
Today’s Challenge
In relating other people living with Migraine, Cluster Headache, or other headache disorder, it’s important that we try to do the right thing. However, doing what’s right isn’t always clear or easy. Doing the right thing may not always be well-received. Think about what it means to do the right thing in the following circumstances:
- A patient is not receiving appropriate treatment.
- A patient is engaged in lifestyle choices that can make headache disorders worse.
- Someone’s doctor isn’t qualified to diagnose or treat migraine appropriately.
- A patient shares information that is incorrect, outdated, unproven, or potentially dangerous.
- Someone makes false statements about Migraine, Cluster, or other headache disorders.
- An employer refuses to make reasonable accommodations for workers with headache disorders.
- Family, friends, or co-workers ridicule a patient or offer unsolicited advice that is patient-blaming.
Can you think of other situations in which we may have to decide on the best course of action?
