When I was young, how I longed for the sun.
Playing outside laughing, wanting to run . . .
Sunny days were always the best,
waiting for the ice cream truck was always a test!
My friends and I, oh how we could wonder
“Will this day end?” Laughing and shouting with a thunder.
Now I am in the “middle of life.”
Who knew I’d be struck with headaches and strife?
In my room I lie
with no light, not even a ray,
No noise either, no laughter
not even a whisper.
When I have a migraine
it’s like days with rain . . .
For when we were children
we hated the rain.
